Who We Are
Since 2002, Pick an Exit, a 4 piece band from New Jersey, has combined catchy melodic hooks, classic rock guitar, and modern pop sensibilities to capture the ears of fans of all ages. Now working on their 4th national tour, the band continues to expand their already formidable online and local fan bases.

What We Do
Pick an Exit is more than just a band.

"We believe that music and shows can be more than just entertainment - they can strengthen communities by bringing people of all ages together in a safe environment. In reality, our aim is not just to promote our music, but to promote the ideas and values of community itself."

Growing up in the now famous 90's music scene of New Jersey meant joining a close knit community of venues, promoters, bands and fans, connected, not just by their tastes in music, but by their ideals of unity, respect, and charity. It is with this in mind that Pick an Exit created the Rock For Dreams Program and Paperjam Records.

What Is Rock For Dreams?
America's youth find themselves in a difficult situation. Despite being the most aware and well connected youth in human history, they often feel powerless to affect any meaningful change in their communities. So despite their awareness and desire to create positive movement, they are often discouraged from trying.

The Rock for Dreams Program was designed to empower our youth with the tools to better their communities.
01. How Does the Rock For Dreams tour work?
PaperJam Records books and promotes roughly 250 benefit concerts a year—but we don’t do it alone. Reaching out to an increasingly sophisticated online network of high school and college age bands, PaperJam recruits some of the most driven young talent to play the concerts and to help get the word out. The objective is not only to attract people to our concerts (where proceeds are donated to the “I Have A Dream” Foundation®) but also to create awareness and buzz around the charity’s local operations.
02. What Is The “I Have A Dream ” Foundation®?
(From the “I Have a Dream” website – www.ihad.org)

“The "I Have a Dream" Program helps children from low-income areas reach their education and career goals by providing a long-term program of mentoring, tutoring, and enrichment with an assured opportunity for higher education.

Local "I Have a Dream" Projects adopt an entire same-grade from an elementary school or an entire age group from a public housing development. They work with this group of children (the "Dreamers") and their families year-round from their elementary school years through college.

With over 196 Projects in 67 cities across 27 states (67 of which are currently active), "I Have a Dream" has now served over 15,000 students during its more than two decades of operation. Many Dreamers who go to college are the first members of their families to do so.”

03. I really like what you guys are doing, how can I help?
Well, by simply showing up to a show and buying a ticket you are helping us and the IHAD foundation, but if you desire to do more there is plenty you can do to help out. We always need extra help promoting the concerts and getting the word out. Talking about the show to your friends, flyering at the mall our school, posting to any variety of online message boards helps us bring people in the door. Also, if you have any connections to media outlets (radio, TV, newspaper - including school newspapers!, etc.) we'd love to hear from you.

Please contact brian.chiger@paperjamrecords.com with promotional ideas or materials requests.

Also, token gifts of food and mix tapes always go a long way towards keeping us alive and touring. Why don't you come to a show and shower us with affection?

04. Do you guys play in a band?
Yep! Pick an Exit is our band. In fact, the Rock for Dreams tour originally began as an alternate touring idea for us. Eventually the idea ballooned into what it is today. You can check out our music at www.myspace.com/pickanexit. Let us know what you think!
05. That’s great you guys play in a band! I play music/make musical sounds too! How can I get on one of your shows!?
Since we already have a lot in common with each other, you're already partway there. For a slot consideration please email evan.statton@paperjamrecords.com. Please include contact information and a link to your band's music. A myspace page would be perfect! Please also include what show you wanted to play, or, if a more general request, what major city you live near. Exciting!
06. I’m an ex-lead singer of your band. Can you forward me the sleeping arrangements for Dave?
Gladly.
